7 × 17.75 - 245 laser-cut pieces from 0.25 inch plywood

The Rose part of a series of four watercolors with flower names from 1898.

Being one of Liberty's smaller puzzles, it took about 4 hours to complete. Completing a very difficult puzzles like Le moulin de la Galette is very satisfying, but I like to alternate easier jigsaws with difficult ones. THat doesn't mean they are easy, just easier. Like most Liberty jigsaws, very few edge pieces connect to other edge pieces. For some edge pieces, the "edge" is 1/16 inch or less, even a point. Therefore the typical jigsaw solving technique of making the edge first does not work well. You can guess where edge pieces go, but just because a piece has a straight edge does not mean it's an edge piece. I have never seen a corner piece in any Liberty jigsaw. Liberty also confuses you by having a shape like the bouquet of flowers (I think) at the middle left between the two pieces shaped like women. It leads you to look for pieces that fit around each flower. Only one does that. Endless confusion.
